Chapters and events

Chapters are local OpenBuilder communities led by reviewed volunteers. Events are listed activities with their own dates, joining details and availability. Check the current listing before planning your participation.

Understand chapter status

Visit Chapters to see locations and their status. Some chapters are recruiting leaders; others are marked as opening soon. A location on the map does not by itself confirm an operating group or a scheduled meetup.

Chapter showcases and facilitated sprints depend on confirmed hosts and dates. There is no confirmed recurring chapter office-hour calendar described by the current product. Use the event calendar for announced activities and the mentor directory to request an individual conversation.

Apply to lead a chapter

1. Read the chapter leadership expectations on the Chapters page.
2. Sign in, then open Apply to lead.
3. Describe your city, community experience, motivation and first-event idea.
4. Review the volunteer and conduct acknowledgements, then submit.
5. Keep the confirmation and wait for review before representing yourself as an approved chapter leader.

The shorter chapter interest form also concerns leadership and leads toward the full application. It is not a membership registration for a local event.

Chapter leadership is voluntary. The page does not promise a salary, starter budget or guaranteed resources. Discuss practical expectations before committing.

RSVP for a listed event

1. Open Events and choose a relevant listing.
2. Read the date, time, format, capacity and description.
3. Sign in before choosing the RSVP action.
4. Wait for the RSVP confirmation. Reopen the event to check your saved registration and available joining details.
5. If your plans change, use the cancellation action on that event.

An event may be full or already ended. Meeting links are shown when you are eligible to view them; an email notification is separate from whether your RSVP was saved.

Prepare one useful contribution

Bring a question, a lesson from a recent test or a small offer to another founder. After the event, record what changed and the next action you agreed. The value is in the work or relationship that follows, not simply attending another session.
