Use your Mentor Workspace

Manage mentoring plans, calendar, follow-up, contribution records and account preferences.

Your Mentor Workspace brings your assigned founders, sessions, preparation and follow-up together. Begin with the next useful action on Overview. Resources support your work; you do not need to complete every founder course.

Agree a plan and next actions

Open a founder and choose Shared plan & actions. Write the goal and working agreement, then add the milestones that matter to that relationship. A programme can choose an ordered sequence. There is no universal ten-session target.

Propose an action with an owner and optional date. An action proposed for your partner becomes their commitment when they accept it. It does not overwrite the founder's personal next move. Founders can review plans, actions and session feedback under Founder workspace → Prepare with your mentor → Your mentoring plans and history.

Save before leaving. If a save fails, keep your draft and retry. If your partner has changed the shared record, review the latest saved version before replacing your draft.

Prepare, meet and record what happened

Use Calendar to see bookings and export a calendar file. Set your preferred timezone in Mentor settings. Calendar export is a file to import; it is not a live connection to Google or Outlook.

Read the founder-approved context and prepare for the conversation. After an ended, confirmed booking, record whether it happened, was missed or was cancelled. Only completed sessions contribute hours. If you already logged the session, link that log instead of recording the same contribution again.

Both participants can rate the usefulness of a completed session and leave feedback. Feedback is shared with the mentoring partner and authorised administrators. Use private preparation for your personal reflection. A completed relationship also offers a final reflection on the mentorship.

Keep up with follow-up

Notifications shows relevant message, booking, shared-work and relationship updates. Filter all, unread or read; mark an update read or dismiss it. Notification preferences control the mentor notification centre. They do not configure email or push delivery.

The overview also provides recent conversation activity. Opening a conversation does not imply that your partner has read your messages.

Pause, resume or finish a relationship

Use Mentorship requests to ask for a new match or request a pause, resumption or completion of a current relationship. The OpenBuilder team reviews requests; submitting one does not immediately change the assignment. Founders can make these requests from their mentoring area too.

Mentorship history retains active, paused, completed and archived relationship records. Ending a relationship does not grant access to fresh founder work or private mentor preparation. A new pairing has its own sharing permissions.

Record and acknowledge your contribution

My contributions shows recorded sessions and self-reported hours, with exports. Counts describe activity, not venture impact or professional competence.

After a relationship is completed and has a recorded session with positive time, a mentor can request a contribution acknowledgement. An authorised team member reviews and issues it. The printable acknowledgement describes the recorded contribution and labels hours as self-reported; it is not a professional qualification.

Manage your account

Mentor settings includes your photo, professional details, timezone, notification preferences, conduct acknowledgement and account security. Your displayed email changes after the account service confirms an email change.

Choose English or French for the mentor interface. Founder messages, courses and some practical guides stay in their original language. Original downloadable templates and conduct materials are available in both languages.

You can upload an optional PDF CV of up to 5 MB, download it or remove it. The file is private to your account; uploading it does not publish it or share it with founders. A bio and LinkedIn profile are enough to begin.

Use practical materials

Downloads & sharing provides original OpenBuilder conduct commitments, editable session templates, printable packs and mentor recruitment materials. Review a template before sharing it; do not include a founder's private information in public materials.

External learning remains a curated set of links with access and reuse information. Downloading an OpenBuilder pack does not grant redistribution rights to an external publisher's content.
