Peers, founder circles and community
Meet visible founders, exchange useful help and keep a small weekly commitment with a circle.
Community works best when you bring a concrete question, a useful offer or a small commitment. You can browse public areas before joining; posting and circle participation require an account.
Find a founder peer
Open the founder directory, search names or ventures and use the stage filter. Read a profile before requesting an introduction. The request lets the other person decide whether to connect; it does not automatically share contact details.
Only founders who choose public visibility appear in the directory. Manage your own visibility in Settings. An empty result may mean there are no matching public profiles, not that nobody is building in that area.
Ask or offer something specific
Use the Ask/Offer board for community questions and contributions. Explain the problem, what you tried and the help you need. If you are offering help, make the topic and scope clear. Sign in to post or reply.
Join a founder circle
- Open Community → Circles.
- Look for a group with a relevant focus and an open place.
- Choose Join this circle. A full or closed circle cannot accept another member through that action.
- Add a weekly check-in with one commitment you can realistically finish.
- Update it as committed, in progress, done or blocked. Add the evidence or help request that makes the update useful.
A circle member can leave using Leave where shown. The facilitator manages a different role in the group.
Start a circle
If none fits, choose the option to start a circle. Add its name and purpose, stage, check-in day and size. The size choices are three to eight founders. Creating it makes you the first facilitator; it does not automatically recruit other people.
Circles are lightweight peer groups. Official chapters represent OpenBuilder in a place and require a reviewed leadership application.
Join the wider conversation
Join WhatsApp opens the community invite outside OpenBuilder. Joining that group is separate from posting a private support request or applying as a mentor. Share thoughtfully and respect other members' time: one clear request and a useful follow-up are often enough.
