My work did not save
Identify the kind of save, preserve your draft and recover without overwriting useful work.
Different OpenBuilder activities save in different ways. A local draft, a saved account record and a submitted deliverable are not interchangeable.
Protect the work first
Keep the affected page open. Copy your latest text or use its download/export control before refreshing, signing out, resetting the activity or clearing browser storage. If there is an unsaved-work warning, treat it as a reason to preserve the draft.
Check what the page is saving
- Look for the page’s save control, status or explanation. Some activities keep browser drafts; others save records to your signed-in account.
- Confirm that you are signed in with the account used when you created the work.
- If the page has Save, use it and wait for confirmation. Do not assume that clicking the button was enough.
- If a retry action is available after an error, reconnect and retry without resetting the draft.
- Reopen the same activity only after protecting current edits, and confirm that the expected content is present.
If the work is on another device
Browser-only drafts stay in the browser where you created them. Sign-in does not automatically turn those drafts into cloud records. Return to the original browser and export or copy the work if possible.
Account-saved work requires the same account and the correct workspace. My Workspace does not collect every draft from every tool; return to the tool or course where you worked.
Progress or a deliverable still looks wrong
A filled worksheet does not necessarily mean every required activity or completion check has passed. Review the activity’s instructions, complete missing requirements and submit only when its controls allow it.
If a source changed or a newer saved version is reported, preserve your current edits before reloading. If the issue continues, contact technical support with the page, time, account email and error/reference. Explain whether you saw a confirmed save; do not send confidential evidence unless the support process asks for a suitable redacted excerpt.
